Wildlife Apartment Details
Our Wildlife Apartment is very different to most Cairns accommodation. Vibrant with a vintage feel and furnished with some original Cairns furniture including a 1930s silky oak couch, a 1930s timber bedhead, tribal and aboriginal artefacts and artworks including pieces by local aboriginal artist Bernie Singleton.
The new kitchen with large stainless steel oven and hot plates, microwave and large flat screen television gives a mix of new and old. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, toilet and vanity basin.
The open plan layout incorporates a queen bed and one single bed, sleeping 4 persons in total. The large timber desk allows plenty of room for studying our various nature resource books on the rainforest, birdwatching and the tropical environment.
The outside shady patio with table, chairs and couch gives opportunities to enjoy nature. Including rainforest butterflies and the sun birds which feed on the hibiscus flowers at the front of the wildlife apartment.

Our Eco-Friendly Wildlife Apartment is located opposite our rainforest frontage, is solar powered and is just 10 -15 minutes from Cairns. The location of the villa provides opportunities for unique nature and wildlife experiences, like the sunbird family who have been nesting on the verandah.
Here at Villa Marine you can enjoy a nature holiday in Cairns with wildlife at your doorstep. Our adjoining rainforest provides sanctuary to many birds and animals in our tropical rainforest environment and wetlands ecosystems. Enjoy diverse flora and fauna here. Our information centre can assist you with wide range of Cairns wildlife tours, this is our interest and we can provide you with lots of information on any activities you like.

Our tour information office has one of the largest ranges of wildlife tours to experience nature, protected species and native animals; including kangaroos and wallabies.
Spotlighting nature tours we have whale and dolphin spotting in season, Cairns Birdwatching experiences and tours and seabird sanctuaries – Michaelmas Cay on the Great Barrier Reef.
We can provide you with location maps for opportunities to see tree kangaroos, platypus and cassowary all in natural locations. We offer tours to see crocodiles in the wild and snorkelling opportunities with turtles.
There are lots of marine wildlife experiences nearby. Snorkelling, diving, soft corals, hard corals and coral spawning! It is a great opportunity to see many different fish and marine animal species.
We can get you into wildlife attractions such as the butterfly sanctuary, Birdworld, koala sanctuary, Cairns Tropical Zoo, Hartley’s Crocodile Farm and wildlife habitat all at discounted prices – saving you money on your holiday budget.
We have a strong belief in assisting the special habitat that we adjoin. We replant rainforest species and food source plants for Cairns birdwing and Ulysses butterflies and the Hercules month.
We are currently working with renowned butterfly expert Paul wright. We are planting species such as Melicope Ruba and Aristochia Tagula this gives you, the guest, wonderful opportunities to view exotic wildlife and flora in a unique environment from the doorstep of your accommodation.
